Appointed by the City Manager, the City Clerk will join San Leandro’s high-performing, collegial Executive Team.
Ideal candidates will hit the ground running, using their technical knowledge and experience managing elections and working with elected and appointed officials. Political acumen, emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and decision-making skills are critical for success and for the new City Clerk to drive change, advise, and interact with elected and appointed officials, City leaders, and the public.
Ideal candidates will have five years of increasingly responsible experience in a City Clerk’s Office or working with boards and commissions, along with education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Two or more years of management experience supervising staff is desired.
