Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) covers approximately 733 square miles, extending from the northeastern shore of the San Francisco Bay east to San Joaquin County. The County is home to one of California’s most diverse populations and has one of the fastest-growing workforces among Bay Area counties.
 
CCWD seeks an enthusiastic, solution-oriented procurement professional with a strong customer orientation as its next Purchasing Officer. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Purchasing Officer serves as CCWD's principal public purchasing official, is supported by four team members, and supervises staff performing purchasing, inventory, and warehouse duties.
 
Competitive candidates will have five (5) years of increasingly responsible purchasing and contracting experience, including two (2) years of lead/supervisory experience. Training equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in business or public administration, accounting, finance, or a related field is also required. Experience assisting in planning and developing vehicle and equipment specifications will be considered favorably.
 
The salary range goes up to $177,444 annually (+ 3% Cost-of-Living Adjustment effective the pay period inclusive of November 9, 2024) DOQE, supplemented by an attractive benefits package. Closes on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
