Located between the Santa Cruz Mountains and San Francisco Bay, the City of Mountain View spans over 12 square miles in the center of Silicon Valley. The City is home to approximately 81,000 residents and many internationally known corporations such as Google, Microsoft, Intuit, and LinkedIn. With the support of 62 staff, the Assistant Public Works Director for Public Services is responsible for safety, engineering and environmental compliance, utilities, water conservation and streets and post-closure landfill maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience managing public infrastructure maintenance and replacement programs. He/she will be an approachable manager who leads by example and demonstrates a strong customer orientation. The position requires five years of increasingly responsible experience managing maintenance operations and maintenance functions, at least three of which have been at a supervisory or management level. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, public or business administration or a related field is required.
The salary range goes up to $192,197. Closing date: Sunday, April 26, 2020 (updated).
