Financial Services Director - City of Burbank, CA

The City of Burbank is nestled between the Hollywood Hills and the Verdugo Mountains in the heart of Los Angeles County. This full-service municipality maintains a workforce of approximately 1,433 staff and a FY20-21 General Fund budget of $199 million (total budget $670 million).  With 33 staff members, Financial Services provides a wide range of services including budget, purchasing, accounts receivable and payable, accounting, and payroll.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive financial expertise, be an empowering leader and engaged mentor, and recommend and lead projects that streamline processes, improve operations, and increase efficiency.   The professional selected will have an impressive background in financial modeling and forecasting, be adept at explaining sophisticated financial concepts in understandable terms and have exceptional presentation skills. Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree and five years of recent experience in supervision of a complex accounting system.  Local government management experience highly desirable.  Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.

The salary range is $165,891 - $ 218,147 and supplemented by a generous benefits package. Apply before midnight on Sunday, January 31, 2021
