The City of Pleasanton is a vibrant community with an exceptional quality of life marked by a low crime rate, award-winning schools, diversified economic base, wide variety of parks and recreational areas, and a charming award-winning downtown. Located at the crossroads of Highways 580 and 680, 40 miles southeast of San Francisco in the East Bay’s Tri-Valley region, Pleasanton is ideally situated to provide access to many of Northern California’s finest attractions. The Finance Director, along with a dedicated team of 13, oversees the City’s financial affairs including a bi-annual budget with a FY 2021-22 General Fund of $132 million and total budget of over $223 million.

This successful partner will make presentations and advise policy makers on decisions affecting the long-term financial health of the City. The ideal candidate is an experienced, collaborative finance professional with a record of using technology and best practices to improve operations. Team orientation, along with an interest in developing employees and on City matters outside of finance are key to fit. Increasingly responsible management experience in municipal finance and a Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field are expected.

The salary range for the Finance Director is $161,212 - $241,819 DOQE (control point/midpoint is $201,516) and supplemented by an attractive benefits package.  Closing date: Monday, May 30, 2022.
