The City of Pasadena (pop. 144,000/daytime 250,000) is ethnically and economically diverse and culturally rich, and consistently recognized for its historic character and high standard of living. The Public Works Department is supported by 233 staff and an annual budget of $76.9 million to maintain City streets, buildings, and vehicles; manage integrated waste programs and services; manage the City’s Service Center; and design and manage (some really awesome) capital projects.
Pasadena is seeking a strong and visionary leader known for empowering team members and building a resilient culture that inspires employees and celebrates the department’s impact on the community’s quality of life.  The ability to create a cohesive environment where team members thrive and take pride in their contributions is also essential for maximum success. Competitive candidates will offer education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and five years of management experience in a comparable public agency. Master’s degree preferred. Combination of public/private sector experience acceptable.  Experience overseeing major construction and aging infrastructure projects will be considered favorably.
Salary range $192,885 - $241,106 DOQE, supplemented by competitive benefits. Closing date: Sunday, August 8, 2021

Wait! Did somebody say "celebrate" in a public works ad? Uh huh. That's right. It's the Pasadena Way!
