Assistant Director of Electric Utility - Santa Clara/Silicon Valley Power, CA

The City of Santa Clara is “The Data Center Capital of the West” in the center of the Silicon Valley. As a community-owned, not for profit municipal electric utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP) provides electricity service to over 57,000 residential and business customers, including more than 50 data centers. This Assistant Director of Electric Utility position was approved for a five-year limited term to oversee large system expansion projects totaling $420 million.
 
The ideal candidate will have a history of impressive capital project management and the proven ability to provide high-level oversight to a multitude of projects simultaneously. Experience in power utilities is not required; however, the size and importance of the system expansion capital projects warrant exceptional leadership and project management skills.
 
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or an approved related field, and ten years of increasingly responsible operations, engineering, or related experience, with three years of management experience in an electric utility or closely related organization required. An advanced degree may be substituted for two years of qualifying experience.
 
Salary range is $251,659 - $325,679 DOQE with competitive benefits. Recruitment closes Sunday, August 4, 2024.
