The Deputy Director of Public Works – City Engineer oversees the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department, with 12 full-time employees, a $1.7 million operating budget, and capital projects totaling $50-$60 million each year.

The ideal candidate will have a history of impressive project management and a proven ability to provide high-level oversight to multiple projects. Working knowledge of large-scale multi-use real estate development in California is desired. Strong communication skills and proven success in motivating employees and advancing ambitious goals will be expected. Ideal candidates will offer six (6) years of professional civil engineering experience, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity and a Bachelor’s degree. Current California Professional Engineer registration in Civil Engineering required.
